Enrollment numbers of children in the 6-14 age group have decreased from 58.3% in 2018 to 55.5% in 2022.

Not Enrolled

4.8% of children in the 15-16 age group are not enrolled in schools in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pre-Primary Enrollment

 At the pre-primary level, around 63.6% of infants were registered at Anganwadi Centers.

Gender Gap

The report highlights a gender gap in grown-up children in terms of their enrollment in schools, with girls in the age group of 15-16 years dropping out more than boys.

Increased Private Tutoring

The percentage of students taking private tuition from up to middle school level has risen from 8.8% in 2018 to 13.8% in 2022.

The report states that the arithmetic level of students in government schools has seen progress over the years

Lack of Facilities

The report also points out that there is a lack of facilities such as toilets, water, and computers in schools, and that 30% of schools in Jammu and Kashmir lack water facilities.
